pleasure to meet you.
Without pulling out (all of) my hair, I earned a B.A. in Journalism & Communications from Hampton University. Later, I completed an M.A. in Social Justice & Community Development from Loyola University Chicago. After years in the social justice field - working in community development, affordable housing, and direct action organizing - I went on to pursue a second career in Human Resources, focusing on employee relations, labor issues, and compensation.
I'm a Cleveland, OH native. Go Cavs!
My story has been profiled on Good Morning America, NBC Nightly News, NPR, CNN, TIME, The Washington Post, Dr. Phil Show, Inside Edition, and more. My writing has appeared in the New York Times, the U.S. Office on Women's Health blog, and NBC's TODAY.
I serve as a member of the One Love Foundation's National Advisory Council.
